MONOLITHOS at the ECO2Fuel Review Meeting in Mol, Belgium

Our team traveled to Belgium for the ECO2Fuel project review meeting, hosted by VITO. Hereโ€™s a recap of the key moments:

๐Ÿ”ฌ ๐’๐ก๐จ๐ฐ๐œ๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ˆ๐ง๐ง๐จ๐ฏ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ: Dr. Eirini Zagoraiou, Principal Investigator of the Electrochemistry sector at MONOLITHOS, presented our advancements. The ECO2Fuel project, under the EU’s Horizon2020 (Green Deal) initiative,ย is set to develop the worldโ€™s first low-temperature 1MW direct COโ‚‚ conversion system for producing #sustainable #efuels and #chemicals.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ ๐Œ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ: We reviewed the latest developments in cell components, including #electrocatalysts, #membranes, and bipolar plates, and discussed the assembly of the 50kW stack.

โš™๏ธ ๐Œ๐Ž๐๐Ž๐‹๐ˆ๐“๐‡๐Ž๐’ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐›๐ฎ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ: We highlighted our progress in scaling up electrocatalyst production and our #ecofriendly recycling strategy for End of Life (#EoL) #MEAs. Our trimetallic PROMETHEUS catalyst, featuring 50% less #PGMs, will reduce #emissions while maintaining high performance in #vehicles powered by the ECO2Fuel blend. ๐Ÿš—

๐Ÿš€ ๐’๐ข๐ญ๐ž ๐•๐ข๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ: Partners had the chance to tour VITOโ€™s electrolyzer testing site, gaining valuable insights into cell design and system operations.
