A great honor for MONOLITHOS, the proud coordinator of the CRUSADE project, to host the Kickoff meeting in Athens on January 17th and 18th! CRUSADE, funded by #HorizonEurope, kicked off in January 2024 and will run for 4 years.
๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ: CRUSADE aims to valorize end-of-life automotive components into a #sustainable source of market-grade materials for EU applications. Employing cutting-edge #digital sorting and a #near-zero waste hydrometallurgical method, CRUSADE breathes new life into components like #autocatalysts, #fuelcells, #batteries, and #printedcircuitboards. Prioritizing the recovery of #criticalrawmaterials and actively reducing CO2 emissions, CRUSADE integrates automated processes with industrial #robots and #artificialintelligence. Aligned with the Industry 4.0 concept, CRUSADE strives to deliver high-spec materials at lower prices, promoting a sustainable and cost-efficient future.
๐ค ๐๐ข๐๐ค๐จ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ: During the two days of the meeting, partners had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s activities and roles in the CRUSADE project. Additionally, it provided a valuable chance for CRUSADE colleagues to visit MONOLITHOS facilities, experiencing our laboratories and innovative technologies.
๐๐ก๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ consists of 19 entities from 8 countries, including five R&D providers-RTOs and Academia (TU Bergakademie Freiberg, KU Leuven, AIMEN Centro Tecnolรณgico, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, ENTELOS), seven large industrial partners-LEs (EIT RawMaterials, Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc., Centro Ricerche Fiat, Kuettner GmbH & Co. KG, Sunlight Group Energy Storage Systems, ACCUREC-Recycling GmbH, Ford Otosan) and seven technology developers/engineering SMEs (Monolithos Catalysts & Recycling Ltd., Treee Srl, SAISLAB, Akkodis, BFC Sistemi, Re-Battery, SEC).
