CAT4HEAVY Project Description
CAT4HEAVY aims to develop an innovative Catalyst-based Emission Control System (CECS) for retrofitting public heavy duty vehicles to reduce the greenhouse gases and air pollutant emissions. The proposed catalytic technology will be demonstrated in real conditions on vehicles that will be upgraded as per the European emissions measuring system from EURO IV to EURO VI.
MONOLITHOS participation role
MONOLITHOS will develop a novel nano-catalysts based system to replace diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter and to complete eliminate the current selective reduction catalyst that uses ammonia. The introduction of a pollutants emission measuring and monitoring system, as well as the recycling of the materials that are used will also contribute to the implementation of the proposed innovative technology with beneficial impact to the environment.
