DYSCOVERY Project Description

DYSCOVERY aims to scale up a recycling process for EoL permanent magnets through a hydrogen-free leaching process, extraction chromatography metal separation and metal/alloy production. The new plant will recycle 630 t/a EoL material, enhancing EU recycling capacity by min 23%, to produce magnet-specification metals (300 t/a), commercialized at 30% lower than current market prices. The recycled metals will be tested in the manufacturing of new NdFeB/SmCo magnets for e-mobility applications (Funded by the EIT RawMaterials under the Grant Agreement 21028).

MONOLITHOS participation role

MOΝOLITHOS is in charge of the scaling-up of the DYSCOVERY technology and the installation and operation of the pre-commercial plant, as well as the preparation of required permissions to run the DysCovery unit. MΟΝOLITHOS is also responsible for the smooth and successful accomplishment of the project.
