PROJECTS

LYDIA Project Description

LYDIA aims to commercialize low cost components (30% lower to commercial) for fuel cells and electrolyzers through recycling spent Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs). Moreover, LYDIA focuses on the development of new electrocatalysts/MEAs using recycled Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) and validate their performance for fuel cells vehicles. (Funded by the EIT RawMaterials under the Grant Agreement 22019).

MONOLITHOS participation role

MONOLITHOS leads Lydia project (Coordinator), and will upgrade its hydrometallurgical leaching process for Platinum Group Metals (PGMs) recycling from spent Membrane Electrode Assemblies (MEAs). Moreover, MONOLITHOS is involved in pilot plant set up and in the demonstration activities, achieving the production of electrocatalysts for the green energy production sector and e-mobility.
