RELI-ION Project Description

RELI-ION aims to establish a Li-ion battery collection & recycling value chain in East and South-East Europe transferring an innovative technological solution for the recovery of Li and Co. Through the project, the recycling capacity of ReLi-ion recyclers will be increased by 10%. At the same time, the market share of the LFP and NMC end-of-life waste market will be increased by over 60%. (Funded by the EIT RawMaterials under the Grant Agreement 21113).

MONOLITHOS participation role

MONOLITHOS will assume the role of the technology receiver in the project, benefiting from technology transfer and knowledge diffusion to exploit commercialization pathways in the Li-on recycling value chain. Specifically, MONOLITHOS will develop a supply chain between recyclers and manufacturers of Li-ion batteries in order to provide materials to the developed ReLi-ion technology, which will be improved for its transferability. Additionally, MONOLITHOS will provide input regarding recyclers’ knowledge gaps/needs through the conduction of matchmaking events and training courses.
